That book represents that moment in life when things change. You don't know it but it happens.

It took me longer than usual to warm up to this story, probably cause it took me a while to warm up to Ashley, the main character. I was never one of the "normal" girls in high school (to borrow a term from the author), so a girl whose 'only' interest is her boyfriend and nail polish... But then, what's that word, normal? There's obviously always more to any L.H. Anderson books, and that's why I love her YA stories so much. I love her voice and I've loved to discover the true Ashley, as she took charge of (saving) the Prom (for which she had no interest at the time), she took charge of her own life. That book is beautiful because it represents that moment in life when things change. You don't know it but it happens. Ashley went from being a girl dreaming a fantasy life, to a girl ready to build a real one. She found out what she really wanted, or more accurately, what she did not want to be. It's the start of her adult life, right there.

This has to be the best seduction book ive ever read! Ive read plenty of seduction books in the past.One of my favorite books covering this subject was robert greene art of seduction.but all of that change once i read this book!

Listen im not going to go into details about this book,just go buy it! I have hundreds of books in my library and this is the only one i wont dare lend out! As a matter of fact,now that i think about it,i hope less men dont buy this book so that dominant men like me will continue to have a special advantage over women.The small downside about this book is the mispelled words.But with the endless knowledge he gives you,he easily makes up for it and you will overlook it.

This book was delivered to me at 3pm and i finished reading it by 12am.And im ready for some action more than ever! Before reading this i already had the upper hand dealing with women.But now this book will have me being litterally the king of the throne!

Almost perfect!

Spot on! One of the best I've read on the topic. Very succinct and to the point. No-nonsense, solid advice with practical tips and suggestions. My only reason for not giving it five stars, aside from a few typos, is the design of the actual book. Most importantly, the size of the type is way too small. And the overall look and layout seems amateur at best. But the advice and writing style is top-notch. I suggest the author find a professional publisher. He deserves a much better presentation of his efforts.

With the current sky-high margin leverage rates offered, those whom truly understand the core dynamics of the foreign exchange markets have won the lottery. 95% of traders loose money in Forex, only 2% break even, and only 3% have made (incredibly substantial) profits in the long run; because only the 3% actually understand the underlying fundamentals of foreign exchange - this book being the first baby step.

Heavy reading

This book will especially appeal to people with a lot of knowledge in economic theory. It is very heavy reading and as an educated reader, but not a PhD economist, I had a hard time to push my way through. I had planned to use the book as a text to a community college general interest course in Sustainability, but it would be way over the heads of all but the most advanced economics students.

After these warnings, I am happy to have forced myself to keep going. This books shows how the whole question of sustainability is very complex and call into question the very basis of our economic systems. Mostly people use "sustainability" in a way to make everyone feel good about what they are doing. Look at the number of college courses that have had to add "sustainable" in their title. It ends up not meaning much at all. This books brings us face to face with hard questions we don't like to face. I'm not sure what we can do about it, but it is good to have to at least think about these questions and to learn what some deep thinking economists have proposed.

Perfect for Referencing

With "The Principles of Sustainability" Dresner wrote a great resource for everyone who wants to know what sustainability is, where as well as when it emerged, and where it might go. Especially for researchers this book offers plenty of well researched facts about the history of sustainability and how it became the concept that it is today.

After reading many guides on how to become sustainable I found it quite refreshing to read this book. Especially the first chapter about the history of sustainability made me think about how the evolution of sustainability still influences today's business practices and how we seem to diverge from the original idea. Reading Dresner's work reminds you of the basics of sustainability and causes you to re-think about the big sustainability manifestos out there such as "The Ecology of Commerce". Although I think that chapter three about the future of sustainability is a bit brief and better outlined in other books, I enjoyed the read and would recommend it to everyone who likes to take a step back before taking two steps ahead.

What we always need to know about Sustainability

This book is a must for anyone that is interested in Sustainability. It takes the reader through all the history and tries to give as much neccessary background information as possible to get the big picture on each historical event and milestone. Allthough the author sometimes becomes a bit too subjective, he doesn't impose a view and tries more to inform. Definitely a book worth having for references on Sustainability events.

How Cartoons Promote Environmental Activism

How are people motivated to environmental activism? What makes them care? And beyond that, what makes them act? As a former academic and an environmental activist, I found Deidre M. Pike's Enviro-Toons: Green Themes in Animated Cinema and Television helpful in thinking about these questions.

Using an eco-critical approach, Pike analyzes the pro-ecological content of Bambi (1942), The Simpsons Movie (2007), Wall-E (2008) and Happy Feet (2008), and Avatar (2009), and the work of Japanese animator Hayao Miyazaki, as well as the TV cartoon series South Park and Futurama. In her preface, Pike reviews the grim ecological news and responses to the apocalyptic visions by trying to imagine how people can and should respond. She says, "I know that my students, friends, family members, neighbors, and co-workers want a place to stand. We want to change the things we can change and impact the systems that control what we can't change, and we crave the wisdom to know the difference." How do people do this "not out of guilt but out of a sense of responsibility"?

"It's difficult to discern exactly what kind of discourse sparks guiltless activism," Pike asserts. Her book explores the discourse of cartoons to assess their value and effectiveness at moving us. Pike employs multiple theoretical tools in analyzing cartoons without getting bogged down in arcane academic language. Her style is approachable, with no loss in depth or detail.
Relying on ecological, media, and literary critics, such as Bakhtin, Mcluhan, Joseph Meeker, and Scott Slovic, Pike develops a continuum for analyzing discourse modes--monologic/dialogic, hot/cool, tragic/comic, epic/novel. She prefers cool/dialogic/comic/novel cartoons, which provide viewers with multiple perspectives and a means of engaging in the creation of a story with minimal artistic details, exemplified by The Simpsons Movie and South Park. More detailed and vivid message- oriented films like Bambi and Avatar, she asserts, leave little room for viewers to participate in the film.

Pike's analysis of each cartoon provides insight into both how the medium itself operates on our emotional response and how the message of the film is communicated to us, whether through a single narrative view point or one that offers a multi-voiced perspective of the issue. Pike's detailed descriptions of what works on us in film recognizes the complexity of the work of cartoons. She offers Wall-E as a film that complicates the binaries of tragic/comic and monologic/dialogic, by refusing to idealize the past and providing a pluralistic message.

Pike recognizes --with Scott Slovic--the ability of popular films like Bambi, Happy Feet and Avatar "to weave rhapsodic appreciation for nature with a warning about the impact of man's actions on his exterior environment." Nonetheless, she admits that her analysis favors the cartoons that offer realistic views of the environment, with opportunities for free, democratic dialogue, rather than propagandistic cartoons that cut off reality, discussion, and thought.
